My Advice for New Photographers
Everyone keeps asking me ...
" I want to be a photographer, any advice ?"
My advice for photographers is first; passion !
- if you don't have the passion and dedication you wont make it.
My buisness didn't grow over night.
I've spent many hours and late nights promoting, editing and just working my business.
If I didn't have that passion, i wouldn't be here today.
For those who do have that passion and want to know more, keep reading :
- When looking into buying your camera, RESEARCH !
It sucks if you don't know how to use the camera or know any of its details.
DON'T choose a camera because of price because camera equipment is expensive, so pay for quality -- even if you have to save up.
- Know what your getting yourself into before you commit because camera equipment is expensive.
- Take the time to learn different techniques and KNOW YOUR CAMERA.
- Just because you have a camera, doesn't mean you're a photographer. because there's technique and detail in photography. Many people make buisnesses and try to charge people money before they're ready to. Practice with your friends and stuff first but please don't call yourself a photographer without expierience.
- Find your inspirations; for example, I love to take pictures of flowers - but I would never do it for money. With people, my inspiration is for people to feel beautiful/handsome. My goal is for people to see life as I see it - from my point of view - and for everyone to know that beauty is not one form or shape.

What inspires you the most in life & in modeling?
God inspires me . I give full credit to him in all that i do because I believe that he is the only one who has had the ability to give me the strength to strive to succeed and and because all things are possible through him, i WILL SUCCEED.
What made you want to be a model?
I was always told that I should really consider it but I never thought I really had what it takes to be a model. All the girls you see in magazines and on TV are so gorgeous and skinny and nothing like myself. This makes girls now days nearly want to kill them selves to look that way. I Model to show the world that beauty is natural and you dont have to hide your face in makeup or stop eating to be beautiful.
Who is/are your hero[s]?
My Dad, because hes went through so much in his life and beyond his past he pushed it all aside to find God I admire that about him. My dad encourages me to follow my heart and all of my wildest dreams and I love him for that.
What do you feel are your strengths & weaknesses?
God gives me the ability to stay strong, weakness is all in your mind. What are your plans for the future?
To graduate from high school and continue my schooling at an (undecided) junior college, then off to a performing art academy. (schools still undecided.) I hope to move to New York someday:)
What do you want to be when you grow up?
My heart is set on singing, but if that doesn't workout for me then either Im going take care of disabled children, or be a makeup stylist.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to write music, sing, model, and play basketball.
If you were to describe yourself in 5 words what would they be & why?
Creative- my ability to write music, put clothes together, and makeup.
Outgoing-Im willing to meet new people and Im really friendly and fun. (known to talk alot.)
Confident-Im known to walk with my head held high, which can be mistaken very easily.
Argumentative-I dont start them, I finish them. I hate arguing, but when I believe something and really have my heart set on it then its a must that i get my point across.
Ambitious-When I set my mind to something, it definitely will be done.
What are your favorite color & least favorite color?
Favorite: Red and Gold
Least favorite: Royal blue, im not exactly sure why, but theres somthing about it just to dont like. The color of pepto bismol, that stuff is nasty and that color reminds me of it lol.
What are your favorite food & least favorite food?
Favorite: Mexican and Chinese food are the bomb!
Least Favorite: Seafood, eww too fishy.
Where do you like to shop & why?
Wetseal, Pacsun, Charlotte Russe ect. because its my style.
How would you describe your style?
You'll catch me in a little bit of everything.

What’s it like to be the 2nd model of MTP?
I love it! MTPs my new other family:)
What do you love most about modeling for MTP?
My boss, shes the greatest .! She makes modeling for fun for me, shes not only my boss but my friend and someone I call my sister (Which means alot). I also Love being able to say "Yes Im an MTP Model." its a privilege that not very many get to have.
What is your favorite picture/photo shoot with MTP?
Well I only have one shoot thats not the best, (for reasons you wouldn't understand lol) but my favorite picture would have to be me flippin off the camera.
If someone were to ask you what a typical MTP shoot was like, what would you say?
Be ready to have fun and laugh your butt off, there's no specific instructions just be free and and have fun with it. Be sexy with the camera just not slutty, smile and be yourself.
What drew your attention to MTP out of all the other modeling/photography companies?
MTP's pictures are amazing. I dont know about other companies but working for this one means I can be myself. Were like a family, understand that we dont judge and we dont have a preference on your personality. Were a family, we work together and I feel like fit right in.
What does MTP mean to you & what do you feel MTP represents?
Honestly, it means family to me. We work together, grow together, succeed together.
During a photo shoot & when you’re posing, what message are you trying to show through your pictures?
Well it all depends on the look were going for.

If you were to describe your photographer, what would you say?
Amazing person, shes fun, funny and understanding someone who I completely get along with. I love her.
What does she do to make a photo shoot easier?
Shes able to work around our schedules, understanding that we are just as busy as she is. She lets us throw in our own unique poses and ideas, encourages us, and helps us through every shoot.
Where do you think she’ll go with her photography?
She put her heart into her photography and I believe shes gonna do big things in the future and gonna go far with it.

What inspires you the most in life & in modeling?
-Many things inspire me in life but I find the most inspiration in myself because no one can better my future more or less then I can. People can only help but its up to me to put in the work.
What made you want to be a model?
-When most girls are young we find ourselves admiring the glamor girl on T.V and in magazines and when I was young I use to walk down the house hall ways in my mothers shoes pretending to be on a runway. But what many people don't know is that modeling has another side to it not only do you get to be the glamor girl or handsome guy but also set an example for other girls and boys that might not have as much confidence as you do.
Who is/are your hero[s]?
-My all time heros are my Mother and Father not only because i was brought in this world by them but because they have shown me that with a little hard work and dedication I can be anything and do anything.
What do you feel are your strengths & weaknesses?
-My strengths are my personality, and my ability to take in advice I say that because I am a very welcoming and outgoing person and with that being said I can warmth a room full of people and also stay positive. My weakness are that I don't like to have friends so I push away a lot of people.
What are your plans for the future?
-My plans for the future are to study in Sociology and to graduate from College and start my own practice.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
-It would be wonderful to become a Model but sadly everyone can not become the next Tyra Banks. So when I grow up I want to become a Therapist for troubled teens.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
-In my spare time I love going to the beach and just relaxing. One thing people do not know about me is that I love going to the book stores like Borders and sitting in Indian style and reading all the books I can for free. But I can't forget I like to PARTY ! -AHAHA
If you were to describe yourself in 5 words what would they be & why?
1.implacable - because im hard to please, I do not give in for less only but the best. I got that attitude from my dad.
2.determend - that explains itself
3.fashionable - although I love fashion/clothes I do not find myself trying to keep up with the Jones and latest trends. But if you look at my closet you'll be jealous.
4.lazy - yes I admit it I am a very lazy person I prolong things that aren't important to me or that are boring.
5. argumentative - its not that I like arguing but when it comes a time when I have to get my point across I will surly do so.
What are your favorite color & least favorite color?
-Favorite color would be Green , and least Yellow. but my Favorite color to wear is brown I just like how it goes with my skin.
What are your favorite food & least favorite food?
-OMG! Burritos and Tacos. and my least will have to be Spaghetti.
Where do you like to shop & why?
-I shop at Forever 21 because it has everything and anything you need to make the perfect outfit. I also shop at places like Rainbows for my sun dresses and little Boutiques in malls. Im a very open minded person when it comes to shopping. My favorite place to shop at would have to be Jet Rag in Hollywood.
How would you describe your style?
-My style is comfortable and colorful at times. I own a lot of holey jeans, sandles, plain t's, and big designer bags I love my designer bags. I do not wear teenie shoes. Nor do i wear a lot of chains or jewelery at ones. I also do not wear jeans too tight to walk in or shirts to small to breath in.

What’s it like to be the 1st model of MTP?
-Being the first model "OMG" it feels good to say that. But no really being the first MTP model feels like being the first child it never gets old -AHAHA. Its a very special thing because I got a chance to really watch the modeling side of "MTP" grow !
What do you love most about modeling for MTP?
-The thing I like most about modeling for "MTP" is the fact that we are more then what meets the eye we are family.
What is your favorite picture/photo shoot with MTP?
-My favorite photo shoot would have to be the photo shoot where I shot with Jay Jay. It was my first time coming to Oceanside C.A for a shoot and over all we had lots of fun and the pictures came out great.
If someone were to ask you what a typical MTP shoot was like, what would you say?
-I would have to say its like taking pictures at a family reunion. There's no do this and do that pose this way don't move don't smile. Its more of a "make love to the Camera" and have fun the rest will fall in place.
What drew your attention to MTP out of all the other modeling/photography companies?
-Like I've said over and over again "MTP" is family and we all have a part in helping it grow. And I love how we all do not have to be a size 0 to model. And we don't have to be a giant either because I am only 5'5".
What does MTP mean to you & what do you feel MTP represents?
-MTP represents a lot , every teenagers life style.
During a photo shoot & when you’re posing, what message are you trying to show through your pictures?
-It depends on what the theme of the shoot is. But whatever the theme is I do my best to speak it through the pictures.

-I would say she's very understanding and that's what I love about her.

-She works with our busy lives and she doesn't over work me during a shoot , she laughs with me and even help me pose at times.

-I think she will go far because she has passion and she doesn't give up and that's all you need.

An Essay by & about the Photographer
Why Your Art?
“Mommy, can I take the picture?” Ever since I was little I’ve loved taking pictures. Photography has been a growing passion of mine that has only expanded in time. Even though I’ve had many passions and hobbies, photography is the only one that stuck with me throughout the years.
During high school I struggled on what I wanted to do after I graduated. I also went back and fourth between if I wanted to go to a community college, a Cal State or a University. By my junior year I decided I wanted to pursue a career in photography.
In March 2008, I bought my own camera, a Nikon D40. I experimented with my camera and learned different techniques to expand my work. I started my own company called Minor Threat Photography. I’m not quite sure how I came up with the name, but it stuck. At first, I did photo shoots for free so that I would be able to learn better use my camera and how to work with a client. Then the more I learned and the longer I worked, led to wanting to make some money out of it.
As time passed, I toyed with my camera and I realized the happiness I got out of taking pictures. Around this time is when I became interested in going to a school that specialized in photography, instead of a community college. I began looking around for schools that I felt had what I was looking for; Because I wasn’t interested in a four-year curriculum, I started looking into trade schools. My mom found the Art Institute of San Diego and began doing her own research, but it still didn’t grab my attention. We found out they didn’t have photography at the San Diego location, so we began to look into the Orange County. It excited me to go to an open house for the school because I enjoy being in Orange County. As soon as I started walking around the inside of the A-building, I fell in love. Seeing everyone’s artwork, designs, and stories inspired.
I chose the Art Institute of Orange County because it’s based on creativity and a passion for art. . I love learning about all different types of art. I love that we’re all so diverse in the way we think and how we learn. The fact that the Art Institute has digital photography, fashion design, graphic design, gaming design, culinary and so much more is exciting to me because it opens up ways to network and make connections for the future. For example, my closest friends so far are all in different majors. My passion for photography is strong because I know I’m destined for greatness. I’m not someone who wants to or is meant to be stuck in a cubical or office all day. I have a big heart and an even bigger imagination, which is what fuels me. Photography is amazing to me because it gives me a chance to capture moments and show people life as I see it. For example, I’ve taken pictures of both cobwebs and roses, and they looked equally beautiful. My goal for my future and my artwork is just that, to show people life in a different perspective and open up the way people think. I hope my artwork can be inspirational to someone one day.
My goal now, at the Art Institute is to earn my degree, discover what field of photography I would like to be in and have a greater knowledge of photography as well as art as a whole. I want to be so great and influential in my career that one day someone will be researching me in his or her art class. I want to be known for my powerful work that made a big difference either in someone’s life or in photography. Even though my journey at the Art Institute is just beginning, I’m anxious for what I’m about to learn and how I’ll become a better photographer by Spring 2011.
